List of posts segregated by category

Here is a list of this blog's articles. Each article is placed in a given category based upon the main topic of that article. Even if an article mentions other topics, it won't be placed in categories of these topics since main topic has already determined the category. Categories are segregated alphabetically (aside from category Other) while posts are segregated chronologically in each category.

Creationists don't understand basic biostratigraphy

Aside from denying biological reality (like evolutionary biology or even the basic meaning of terms within this field on which I elaborated in What does 'evolution' even mean? ), creationists also support other forms of pseudoscience. This is especially the case in Young Earth Creationist circles where a large portion of science denial is also dedicated towards geology. While creationists mostly focus on radiometric dating itself or the supposed evidence of the Biblical flood, there are also creationists that misunderstand how biostratigraphy is used in geological dating to prove that the logic of "atheists"/"evolutionists" is supposedly circular. A simplified representation of the biostratigraphic method Before we begin I shall define what biostratigraphy is in the first place. Biostratigraphy is typically defined as the branch of stratigraphy in which rock strata are identified and organized (correlated and have a relative age assigned to them) based o...

Creationism is not scientifically valid - why I've created this blog?

Hello everyone! My nickname is Szymcionorski (spelled Shym-chyo-nor-skee) and here I plan to upload some content regarding creationism and science communication (aside from my YouTube channel " Polish "Evolutionist" (Szymcionorski) " dedicated to the same goal and Szymcionorski's website that serves as my work's information hub). But what about the title of this blog post? Simply put - I do not see essentially any evidence that would validate claims made by creationism in general.  A good example of that is a common argument used by them regarding "new information". From what I've observed the argument usually starts with a given creationist claiming that x evolutionary transition requires huge amounts of "new information" and thus their opponent should provide a mechanism for which this supposed information could arise. Then the person defending evolution gives examples like gene duplication, de novo gene birth and sequence mod...

What does 'evolution' even mean?

If you've been interacting with creationists in online spaces you've probably stumbled upon an argument akin to "I don't believe in evolution! I believe in adaptation!". It is also common for them to incorrectly equate microevolution with adaptation and conflate macroevolution with universal common ancestry. To clear up this confusion I decided to create this post. So, what even is evolution? March of progress - a common, simplified depiction of human evolution from a common ancestor with chimpanzees Evolution (as a process) is commonly defined as changes in heritable traits in populations over generations . It is also frequently referred to as descent with modification since every organism is simply a modified version of whatever its ancestors were. It is thus incorrect to claim that evolution is one organism undergoing some kind metamorphosis-like transformation causing its biology to be completely rewired. It, similarly, can't be treated as one organism...
